The Nightingale, Balham

Today we headed over to Balham to visit the Sewing & Craft Superstore, a veritable sweet shop for all things crafty, even Jon loved it in there and he did an ace job of helping me find everything I needed for my upcoming projects <3

Before exploring the wonders of the aforementioned emporium, we stopped off at The Nightingale for some breakfast. We lived in Balham for 18 months and ate here many a time, the reviews on Urbanspoon are a bit hit and miss, but we've always had good service and nice food. Yes....there is an abundance of yummy mummys (ergo noisy babies), but where in Balham, nay, 'gentrified' South West London is there not??

Jon had the veggie breakfast, which comprised of fried eggs, mushrooms, tomato, beans, falafel, wedges, mozzarella and toast and I had a really nice mushroom and cheese omelette.

They also have lots of lunch options and a variety of cakes, had we not been too full, I would've had a helping of hot apple and cinnamon cake with vanilla ice cream!
