Its a lovely little coffee shop to the south of Brockley in Crofton Park with a retro 1950's vibe and a great ambiance. I'm a sucker for the formica tables and mis-match chairs!
We arrived at about 12:30 and were surprised to see that it wasn't as busy as we expected, although I think we'd just missed the breakfast rush. We ordered 2 items from the 'sexy toast' menu; cream cheese, honey and cinnamon and also avocado and feta. We swapped and had a slice each of both, I'm not the biggest fan of feta, but this was lovely! The saltiness of the feta really complimented the avocado and it was finished off with a squeeze of lemon and some fresh ground pepper, I literally couldn't get enough of it!! I'm definitely going to try and recreate it at home.
Our 'dessert' toast was lovely too, the cream cheese was very light and balanced the sweetness of the honey. I would have liked a tiny bit more cinnamon, but then I'm a bit of a cinnamon fiend!
The cakes looked delicious too, I wish we'd had room for a slice of the Guinness and chocolate cake, maybe next time.
But we couldn't resist taking a couple of these guys home for later....
I definitely recommend Arlo and Moe for a chilled out lunch, the service, decor and music was great and the food was really fresh and slightly different to the usual coffee shop fare. Our lunch with 2 mocha's came to a purse-friendly £13.50.
